Allen Linder has 2 distinct bodies of work in both stone and bronze. One is figurative and the other is spherically geometric. He works on both bodies simultaneously and has been creating and exhibiting them for over 25 years.
My figurative sculptures are about their forms and the stories they suggest . I have always been aware of the interplay between the two and how they inform one another. They are born together each relying on the other to grow. Without a body there is no story to be told and yet living the story shapes the body.
My figurative sculptures embody the mysteries of my life.
They are as guideposts saying these are places I have been. These are my labours and my adventures. These are the ongoing narratives I forget I am living until I become still and carve.
