Over the years I've painted in many different styles - they flowed from one to the other - abstracts becoming organic, becoming landscapes, becoming abstracts again and now representational.
Landscapes, River Scenes, Sunsets and The Magnolia Plantation Paintings inspired by the countryside in Sonoma County, CA and more recently The Magnolia Plantation in Charleston, SC.
Abstracts Influenced by the images, colors and feelings of nature.
Representational & Fantasy� - paintings from 2009 where images from a variety of sources are assembled to create dramatic compositions that weave fantasy and reality together with color being a dominant factor.  
In the Equestrian Series� I am trying to convey the joy, the excitement, the pageantry of riding horses. I have always loved horses but never had more than a few opportunities years ago to experience the feeling of freedom and excitement when riding these beautiful animals. The backgrounds are painted first, then subsequent layers are added using tape to mask silhouetted figures which are streaked with different colors showing movement. The final figures are painted last and rendered more realistically.
