My Artist Statement
Decoys and Quilts pretty much describes what we're about. We are a husband and wife team who pursue our passions of carving and quilting.
Bob, the Carvin' Artist, creates realistic carvings of ducks, birds and fish. He uses wood such as Eastern red cedar and walnut and stains them to highlight the wood's natural beauty or paints them with acrylics.
Brenda, Spool and Bobbin Quilting, creates wall hangings and bed quilts from quality cotton fabrics. Most of her designs would be considered traditional in nature, although they often have a contemporary look due to the fabrics used. Many of her commissioned pieces have been memory or themed quilts.
