After graduating from high school in 1970, I began to work as a carpenter’s helper. The company that I worked for built custom homes, including cabinetry and shelving. A wood shop was set up onsite to build elaborate cabinetry. Throughout the next forty years, I continued working in construction and opened my own construction company. In addition to building homes, I continued to build custom cabinetry. Over the years, I have made furniture, such as, entertainment units, end tables, bed frames and cabinets. As my technique and skill improved, I began to use a variety of domestic and exotic hardwoods combining and adding artistic design. .

My Artist Statement
Using the color, grain and texture of the wood, I create functional furniturel, with an artistic flair.
When creating these pieces, my thought is to not only create heirloom quality furniture, but to provide pieces of art that will be both visually pleasing and functional. All my pieces are one of a kind or part of a one of a kind set (dining room sets, end tables, etc.). |
