Earl Nesbitt Fine Furniture

I have been designing and building fine furniture since 1989 when I completed an intensive, year-long apprenticeship with a master craftsman. In 1995 I opened my own studio which is located in Santa Fe County, New Mexico. My upcoming exhibits are listed on the homepage of my website (www.EarlNesbitt.com). My Artist Statement

I use the highest quality materials and the finest craftsmanship to create one-of-a-kind pieces of collectible solid wood furniture. My pieces display solid wood so that its subtleties can be enjoyed: the way the grain moves through a sculpted piece, or the feel of a tabletop or a shaped edge. I combine traditional joinery techniques with innovations like my use of bent laminates and interlocking pegs to create unique design elements that are often functional as well as decorative. I use traditional tools such as chisels, handsaws and hand planes, as well as modern power tools both large and small. Durability is of the utmost importance: my pieces are built to last for generations. This along with limited production ensures the collectible promise of your investment.
