I was born in Hibbing, Minnesota (same town as Bob Dylan) and raised in Clearwater, Florida - - a good beginning. I've lived in Tallahassee, FL since arriving in 1970 to study biology and art at FSU, and pharmacy at FAMU. I love to paint and have been a professional artist for over 30 years.
I grew up on the Gulf and now live on a pond in the woods of North Florida. When life lets me, I spend as much time in the garden as I do in the studio, and I love to watch the clouds. Sky and water - always there, yet ever-changing. Painting is an intellectual and a sensual pleasure to me. It reflects my life in an attempt to reach equilibrium: that balance between light and dark, hard and soft, and hope and despair. Often my paintings wander to the solitary places I went as a child, and to which I am still drawn, in daydreams and just before falling asleep. The paintings are sanctuaries and sources of inspiration, offering comfort, and sometimes magic - - and they are a joy to paint.
