Long an admirer of simple lines, gentle curves, and functional elegance, I left my profession as a California psychologist to pursue more tangible, creative interests. For the past 23 years, I've been actively involved with the decorative glass industry, specializing in the made-to-order residential and commercial markets.
More recently, I've been developing my own line of artistic and functional glass and mirror designs which you see here. I welcome your feedback and suggestions.
Departing from the usual presentation of mirrors as strictly functional, whose sole "artistic" features are commonly restricted to the frames that surround them, the collections you'll see here incorporate artistic elements within the mirror itself.
I refer to my mirrors as "mirrals" - a combination of mirror and mural. The collection is divided into two categories, "art" and "mirrors".
The art represents a functional blend of theme and reflection. Each piece begins with the actual removal of glass layers. The textured areas are then either silvered or silvered with color highlights.
The mirrors contain geometric design elements of color and/or texture, and have no particular "theme".
In all cases, the use of perimeter frames is limited, the emphasis being on the "mirral" itself.
