Ilana is an accomplished artist who has exhibited in France, Italy, New York, Miami and Chicago. She has many works in private collections world wide.
As a graduate of the School of the Art Institute, Chicago, Ilana has been influenced and inspired by her life experiences; most notably living and working for twelve years in the south of France, and two years in Rome and Venice, Italy. The masterpieces of the Louvre, Musee d'Orsay, The Sistine Chapel, and the Vatican Museum, were observed, studied, and enjoyed. The colors in the south of France and sculptural forms in Italian cities were incorporated into her work. She has visited China, India and many parts of the Middle East. These experiences have enriched her artistic vision, which flourishes with the influx of continual experimentation, inspired by many cultures.
Portraits, landscapes and dream inspired imagery are rendered in a personal style that is uplifting and thought provoking. Brilliantly colorful, with a lyrical, joyful palate, and delicate rendering of light make her canvases come to life. Her paintings resonate with intuitive expression and visual narrative as conventional worlds are visually redefined.
