I have worked for 30 years in the transportation industry, so I am very familiar with my favorite subject matter. I paint at my studio located near Jacksonville, Florida.
I am an artist who specializes in painting the trains, ships and airplanes of America's great industrial age. I use traditional oil painting techniques, and usually begin each project with several pencil sketches. From the sketches, I proceed to a shaded pencil drawing. I don't make a detailed drawing on the canvas, but I work from my pencil drawings as reference. In most paintings, I begin with a monochromatic under painting, and add layers of color and detail as the painting progresses.
My work has been selected for inclusion in many juried shows and exhibitions, and my paintings have hung in galleries, museums, and other public spaces. My paintings have appeared in articles and advertisements in American Art Collector Magazine and other publications.
