Product description: The powerful waterscape “Over Dancing Water” captures the aftermath of a passing storm as the turbulence of water and sky subside under a translucent full moon. This tapestry received the Juror's Choice Award in the exhibit "Impact" at Foundry Art Centre, St. Charles, MO, 2016. This is an original fine-art tapestry, hand-woven on a vertical loom using traditional techniques in which each thread is meticulously placed to create a textile image that weaves the spiritual and physical connections into a new artwork. The creative process begins through the medium of a water-color design in which the artist perceives the range of colors and fiber characteristics that will needed and the intensification of colors that comes with the scale-up to the full dimensions of the finished tapestry. The weaving process itself requires many months of dedicated patient work in which the chrysalis design unfolds into a work of enduring meaning and beauty. Each tapestry is truly unique and is only woven once.
