StrataSphere Wind Sculpture on small base

24" diameter sphere copper, brass, stainless steel bearings A unique kinetic sculpture designed to move with the wind. It has five independent revolving elements that use copper cones to capture air currents of almost any speed. Its movement is similar to gyroscopes within gyroscopes as the entire sculpture takes on a random yet graceful spinning motion in the wind. All joints are silver-brazed by hand for extraordinary strength. StrataSphere is made of brass, copper and stainless steel, all materials that will not rust. Precision miniature stainless steel ball bearings are used at all pivot points for friction-free movement.
