In 2011 I received a grant to create a series of paintings and a video installation for a two week showing. The show was called Art Aquatic. I was inspired by my husbands underwater video. The sea life seem to be very curious about him and his friends. They would come right up to his video camera. This sea turtle is looking at the viewer and is saying who are you, swim with me. I used the fabric mosaic to show movement in the water. The fabric was printed with my inkjet printer. I used an image of water from an old painting I did a few years before. This series is painted on wood. The turtle is a birch wood box painted with black gesso and a texture has been added. The box is 2" deep.
