Self taught painter
I grew up in a house full of books.
I spent hours staring at the art books.
My favorites were about Art History,
the Renaissance, Impressionism
and Early American Art.
My biggest influences are Schiele, Goya,
Hess and Rubens. Their work captured my
attention and has always struck a chord
with me … their images had something
important to “say”. I didn’t start painting
until my late twenties. Over the years
I’ve experimented with different themes
and mediums. I often feel the evolution
of the work is the most rewarding aspect
of being a visual artist.
