About AR Sculpture Studio
My studies in sculpture evolved through various avenues, being self-taught with the help of various books and research on my own. Early on I received a BS degree in biology from Norther Illinois University which had helped me in sculpting, because of a intensive study of human anatomy. Later on the love for art took me on a gratifying journey, as an art director for honor students in painting art murals I constructed, to having the privilege of being commissioned by one of the Munchkins from the 'Wizard of Oz". Finally, as a sculptor I received numerous awards, "Showcase Artist Award", 'People's Choice Award" from Ozarka College, Melbourne, Ar, .I displayed my sculptures at Arkansas State University and Integrity First Bank both of Mountain Home, Ar. A sculpture permanently displayed at Batesville Oncology Clinic White River Medical Center in Batesville, Ar. called 'Reaching for Ribbons of Hope". Also had a featured article about my art in "Avenues Magazine", a local magazine for the Ozarks. I presently hold memberships in Ozark Regional Arts Council Mountain Home, Ar. and Friends of the Library, Ozarka College, Melbourne, Ar.
Hidden in the tranquil hills of the Ozarks, I try to bring experimentation and innovation to my sculptures. Fascination with the many expressions of the human form, both in portrait and figurative sculpting, my art gives me inspiration from the nourishment I have within myself to develop a gratification to create through my hands and heart, a sculpture to be proud of and which hopefully leaves an impression upon the viewer.
