Charlie Sawyer’s award-winning photographs of wildlife and coastal scenes have appeared in juried exhibitions, as advertising, and as cover art. His work is on permanent exhibit in South of Soho Gallery in Tallahassee’s Railroad Square Art Park. Signed prints are available in shops from Tallahassee to Apalachicola, along Florida's northern gulf coast.
About his art, Charlie says, “Every day, in Florida’s wild and watery areas, astonishing scenes of magic are unfolding. I try to capture that magic by getting out with my camera early and often. Photography lets me share my sense of joyful wonder. I’m intrigued by the interplay of form and reflection, and the way air and water play with light. Birds, boats, and coastal scenes make naturally interesting and dramatic subjects, but I keep my eyes open for anything. I want my images to evoke what I was feeling when I saw the scene and took the picture.”
