Christa J. Winters (McDonald)
I have never really been good at describing exactly where my art comes from or the meaning that lies beneath it. Unlike many talented artists, I rarely plan any part of my journey other then to have a specific piece of music that seems to be calling out to me play loudly throughout my studio. That is when all thinking stops and something else takes over. My mind becomes quiet and nothing else seems to exist other then the colors, texture and some deep part of myself needing to be freed. When each piece is finished I can only say that on some level, the artwork that reflects back, tells me that I have traveled somewhere new within myself.
I do not hold an art degree, rather I am self taught and have been painting ever since I was a young girl. After experimenting with landscapes, flowers and anything else that challenged me, I found that abstracts were where I felt the most passion and where I was most free to express.
I love to use vibrant colors and almost always, each piece is made up of layers upon layers of individual paintings that together in the end, become one with each other.
Besides my never ending desire to create new art works, my other passions lie in music jam sessions, Latin dancing, interior design and my two always inspiring teenage children.
Over the last 15 years I have showed and sold my arts both locally and internationally, having over 250 of my original artworks now hanging in homes and businesses around the world.
