I am a bi-coastal person. I grew up on the wetlands on the Annisquam River in Cape Ann, Massachusetts. Western Washington state has been my home for a number of years. The coastal landscapes have influenced my work.
My art is inspired and nurtured by my daily walk on paths through the rich often moist greenery of the Northwest coast of Washington state. I find beautiful images in our rich land. Nature and its cycle of growth, decay and renewal are all too evident in our temperate climate. . My goal in art making is to make some of nature’s mysteries visual. I work textiles to do this. Taking color out of fabric, putting color in by dyeing or painting, layering and quilting are all part of the satisfying process of making art.
I exhibit my work locally, nationally and internationally. My work is part of many private collections.
