I firmly believe that everything can be beautiful when viewed in the right frame of mind. When I paint or draw from life I'm driven by the desire to lead others to see it in that way, too, and to demonstrate the extravagant beauty of our everyday surroundings. I'm especially drawn to the intersection of natural and man-made environments: the folds of rock exposed by an excavation or the track of a narrow road winding through the mountains. When I work abstractly, I'm always searching for a perfect, beautiful curving line. I distill the geometry of the everyday objects that attract me into abstract forms.
