Initially trained as an experimental psychologist but imbued with a strong urge toward creative expression, Deborah eased into an art career by way of an interest in artistic crafts. She trained at Fleisher Art Memorial and taught art classes in Fallsington, PA for several years before embarking on her own career as an artist. Her works have won first place awards in Bucks County and Philadelphia shows. She exhibits locally with the Artists of Bristol on the Delaware and sells as a member of the Center for the Arts gallery in Bristol, Pennsylvania.
I'm equally attracted to both natural and man-made objects, especially when the two intersect: weeds growing up through the sidewalk, rutted tracks through an isolated woods, or an overgrown city garden. I sense that everything can be beautiful when viewed with the right frame of mind. When I paint or draw from life I'm driven by the desire to lead others to see it in that way, too, and to demonstrate how extravagantly our everyday surroundings overflow with beauty.
