Well, let me tell you about the man behind his work. I was born in a small town in the hills of Virginia. I started with hammer and nail at the age of six, alone with my twin brother, using my father’s tools and lumber. I was raised in New York City, during the good, free and wild years. I received my first taste of construction work in my early 20’s. While working construction I was rewarded with a raise in position, of supervisor by the age of 22. I later opened a shop, years later, in Tempe AZ, Around 1995 I was manufacturing custom kitchens and entry doors, for commercial and residential markets.
I am an artist who works primarily in wood sculpture. My passion and visions are allowing natural form to be reborn. My sculptures emerge through a process of retakes and variations that mark a creative journey of examining the ambiguity between my vision and the wood’s already exquisite origination in the sculptress, Mother Nature. I consider the ability I have, a gift, which is executed using unclear and less formal rules. In which should always reference the partnership with Mother Nature.
