My Sculpture is a creative process. I create these works while considering natural forms, balance, movement, color and sound. My work is inspired by "abstract constructivism", "drawing in space" and Calder's mobiles and Kandinsky paintings. I am also influenced by my study of the human mind with its complex layers of thought process, unconcious thoughts, and the layers of meaning we each bring to the observation of visual art. I was born in New York City, grew up in Westchester County and have lived in Brooklyn, NY most of my adult life. I began studying art at The New School for Social Research in NYC. Later I received my MFA in sculpture from Pratt Institute. I also have an MA in Art Therapy from NYU and am a Licensed Art Therapist in NY State. I also worked for a couple of years in a fabricating shop creating architectural metal furniture and sculpture.
