Artist Statement

Water. It feeds me. It moves me. If I can be in it or on it is best. If not let me stare at it. I prefer salty but if not fresh is better than no water. I apparently like to paint it. It’s beautiful. Pretty colors, powerful waves and currents, it’s depth or it’s prismatic qualities. Using fluidity and alchemy to describe it. Having sailed on it all my life I know it’s power, it’s fierceness. Yet for all it’s power it needs protection as it is defenseless against the onslaught of man’s assault.
