Much of my childhood was spent drawing everything on anything that had a blank space. My favorite tool was a yellow, HB no. 2 school pencil. I frequently sat out in my pasture and drew drawings of my horses on our horse ranch. Studying every nuance. During my younger school years, I spend more time drawing in the classroom than doing my classwork. Usually drawings of horses.
More medias were explored in my college years. A semester in watercolor turned into five semesters of life drawing classes and two semesters of portraiture. Working in watercolor, pastel, charcoal, and graphite. An anatomy class furthered my understanding of the human body from an internal aspect. Even though people are one of my favorite subjects, I do enjoy drawing and painting other subjects.
I also enjoy showing my artwork in local art shows and have won many awards.
Besides painting fine art pieces, I draw and paint portraits, create handpainted floor cloths and personalized wall clocks, paint murals and enjoy photography.
I still use a no. 2 school pencil as one of my tools for drawing the beginnings of watercolor paintings, my graphite drawings and for thumbnail sketches.
I've been an artist for as long as I can remember. I was born to create and love doing so. There isn't a day that goes by that I'm not being creative in some way or another.
