About JK Mosaic
I have made and sold art in various mediums for most of my adult life, but I discovered mosaic in 2000 and I was hooked. In 2005, I began installing architectural mosaic in homes and businesses by commission. I now work full time in my home studio in rural Western Washington State, spending the rest of my time tending farm animals, caring for a large garden, and raising my daughter. Out of concern for the environment, I salvage almost all of my materials. My mosaic art panels and jewelry are for sale at Matter! Gallery in Olympia and Hubbub in Centralia.
I work in both abstract and representational styles, with emphasis on human relationship with nature, color, texture, and flowing lines. I salvage tile, stained glass, and substrates to create mosaic art panels, and can usually incorporate a large amount of reclaimed materials into architectural work. I love working with homeowners and designers to create work that complements and enhances spaces, whatever the design theme.
