About Julia Lesnichy
Currently I live in Crozet, Va, painting plein air landscapes of Virginia and the Blue Ridge mountains. I paint in the tradition of French and American impressionists, using alla prima and impasto technique. in 2001 I took classes with lois Griffel, the director of Cape Cod School of Modern Impressionism, Provincetown, Ma. My works are in private collections fo russia, USA and Italy.
Among my recent awards are Apstel award of the Degas Pastel Society, 2012; Honorable mention of the Pastel magazine, 2013; In French treadition, Plein air 757, 2013; and 1st place of the Virginia Pastel Society, 2014
I am a Russian oil painter working plein air, doing mostly landscapes, still life and figurative work occasionally.
