Born on May, 1958, in Hong Kong, Thomas inherited the same artistic vision and technique that his father (H. Leung) possessed. Being the eldest of the four sons, he grew up watching his father create beauty on canvas and knew that he too would learn to capture the same enchanting atmosphere that his father's works gave to the art lovers.
In his early youth, Thomas received numbers of award for his painting from the school. His family later immigrated to the United States in 1978 where he went to College of Alameda to major in art. While still in college, he started to develop his own individual style, finding exciting new avenues to express his ideas through abstract painting. On canvas, he experimented with colors, portrayed intense movement, and discovered new paths of artistic development. Thomas likes to travel the world, taking in new scenery from many different countries. Besides abstracts, his main interest in landscapes throughout his works are mountains, volcanoes, and waterfalls. He’s been able to take in the majestic view of the many volcanoes and waterfalls located throughout the Hawaiian islands, and the grand views of the mountains along the Himalayan region.
Over 40 years of continuous work on his dream, Thomas has paintings collected by art lovers all over the world. Thomas has had exhibitions in countries that include the United States, Canada, Australia, Singapore, Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan and China.
Today, Thomas creates artworks of great diversity shown through vibrant landscapes, striking abstracts, and an array of color with lasting vigor. His works can be found at Lahaina Galleries located in Hawaii and California, and Leung Gallery in Shanghai, China.
