Using models, she portrays subjects engaged in everyday activities in contemplative moods in her figurative work. Bayalis' still life paintings focus on foreground objects with dramatic lighting effects often incorporating elements of nature, such as window view in the background. The artist generally works "en plein air" to produce her landscape paintings. the experience of working on location challenges her to adapt to the changing lighting conditions and lends spontaneity to the work.
Margaret's work has been recognized with honors and awards throughout the U.S., most recently gleaning "Best of Show" at the Anna Maria Art League's 2009 "Springfest". Her paintings are included in both corporate and private collections, including the collections of Maryland Bank of America and the Wilmington Trust Co.
