About Mellon Fine Art
Mark M. Mellon has been painting and creating artwork since 1996. After leaving school in 1998, he decided that learning the disciplines of being an artist worked best when it was self taught. He studied and learned through using books, information online and learning from local artists, writers and philosophers. Not only about art and it’s history, but also immersing himself into independent study of philosophy, psychology, mythology as well as just simply trying to live life as a human.
His artwork has always been an extension of his subconscious thoughts, imagination and an attempt to interpret the universal conscious field. Where he can not communicate in words, he hopes to pass on images to make the viewers think and question, hopefully seeing something new about themselves and life.
Working in various and media, his work reflects surrealistic, abstract and expressionistic values with a presence all it’s own.
The artist has shown in Nevada and California in group and solo exhibitions through out his career.
He is currently working and residing in Las Vegas, NV.

With my work I tend to bring philosophy and idealistic views into visual light. I like to blend reference material, whether historical, fictional or metaphysical together, not to distort reality or truth but to better understand the purpose of where we came, where we are going and what we perceive.
It is my hope in my work that the imagery allows viewers to find something all their own, to spark thought and conversation within themselves and see new ways of understanding.
I have found working in various media to work best to outlet my ideas. Hand building the mounting and framing supports of my pieces allows for each piece to be unique and carry on the design and flow of it individually, creation a piece of art all it's own.
My work has an evolving nature to it and with that evolution I plan to continue my pursuit of technique and visual voice to be perpetually renewed from piece to piece.
I can only hope my work will stand the test of time and be found in future generations as an inspiration as well as a link to the past.
