Michael grew up in Wilmington, Delaware. He is a graduate of Wilmington Friends School, Boston College and the University of Virginia. He has lived and worked in Boston, Washington, D.C, Manhattan, San Francisco, Lisbon, Portugal and Wilmington, Delaware, taking up photography with his travels.
In late 2013, Michael did some long-term traveling, spending six months in Ecuador. Prior to the trip, he upgraded camera equipment and invested in a quadcopter with a camera, learning how to do aerial pictures and videos. While most people who fly focus on videos, Michael concentrates on aerial, travel and floral photography. He converts his photographs into fine art prints for home and office décor.
“I love history, nature and photography, and my work gets to combine these passions. Many of my works begin with aerial photography, primarily of historic landmarks and places. I capture these icons from a unique aerial perspective, and edit the images to bring attention to the primary subject. I want my images to either tell a story, bring back memories for the viewer, or evoke a calming emotional effect.
