I am a Tucson fine artist, born 1954 in San Francisco, CA and raised from age 7 in Woodstock, VT. In 1977 on a whim, I moved to Tucson, AZ and have remained there since. I have been selling my work from galleries, cafés, exhibitions, and privately since 1970. My work is in numerous private collections internationally. Public collections include Joel Valdez Main Library / Pima County Public Library and Ronald MacDonald House, Tucson, AZ. I teach classes and workshops in my studio and at Womankraft School of the Arts in Tucson.
I am a Tucson, AZ based fine artist known for her animal imagery and use of color. My work has been described as "life affirming" and "strangely beautiful". My influences include folk art, pre-Columbian, ancient Egyptian, and ancient European art, German expressionism, the Fauves, animals and the natural world, and my subconscious.
My art is my obsession - my reason for living. I use subject, form, texture, and color to create objects that are more than the materials that make them. They communicate feelings and emotions that can't be explained in words. My work is all about aesthetics. My aim is not to make statements, social comment, or illustration, rather I strive to arrest the viewer with a visual feast.
Art is my life!
