Drawn from a highly artistic family, both immediate and extended, Drew's creativity was encouraged from early childhood with reinforcement that art is to be respected and admired.
His career began during college where he found love for acrylic paints. Drew realized his creation was the best way to connect to people on a truly significant level. This launched his desire to spread his passion, "Most of my successful works in this medium have been memorial pieces which have become some of my favorites due to the meaning and endearment that patrons receive from them."
Letting his work be the catalyst for demand, Drew's heart-felt pieces were marketed primarily by word of mouth, and had only recently begun using web resources for exposure.
He earned the People's Choice Award in a gallery-juried competition hosted by DKW Gallery and Studios with a mixed-media sculpture entitled "Uncle Yorick."
Drew's "Unicorn Skull," a combination of real bone and inked plaster sealed in epoxy, is proudly displayed at Black Angel Body Arts and Gallery in Iowa City.
He has found success in the Iowa Arts Festival, an annual gathering in the streets of downtown Iowa City recognized and sought after by artists from coast to coast.
Many of his works can be found in private collections throughout the Midwest, Texas and Florida including paintings, inks, murals, multimedia pieces, sculptures and carvings, as well as some art sold in the UK.
Drew continues to pursue his desire of sharing emotion through imagery around the globe.
