About Payam Sarabi
Payam Sarabi was born in Portland, OR in 1985. He studied architecture at the University of Oregon, leaving the program in 2004 to pursue an opportunity in design management of a private real estate development project in Austin, TX. After several years in the development and commercial construction field Sarabi began to pursue his true passion for design by opening Sarabi Studio in 2008. Today Sarabi Studio supplies “stark modern” functional art pieces in the form of furnishings and architectural metal work to clients all over the globe. His designs and other works have been featured in luxury hotels, galleries and award winning private residences around the globe. Sarabi’s most popular design to date is undoubtedly his Linear line, a series of high precision fully welded stainless steel and powder coated steel tables and benches. Sarabi Studio continues to hand craft all of its work in Austin, Texas at our 3,000 sqaure foot specialty workshop and design facility.
We don’t work with particle boards, plastics or other synthetic materials that look like wood or steel. Rather, we use solid natural hardwoods and top grade steel in all our products. Each and every furniture piece that leaves our Austin, Texas studio is hand crafted by one of our artisans with utmost attention to every detail. We purchase all of our raw materials from local vendors and whenever possible we work with reclaimed or responsibly forested woods to minimize the environmental impact. We purchase domestic steel, packaging materials, adhesives and abrasives whenever available. We are confident you will find the attention to detail and quality workmanship in every one of our designs and products.
