I am graduate of Pratt Institute. I have worked in different media, but lately have concentrated on painting and drawing. I have shown in various not-for-profit spaces and galleries in New York and Los Angeles. I was in an exhibit at the New Musueum, the Alternative Museum, the Pelham Art Center, the Hudson Opera House, etc. My most recent exhibit was at the Blank Space Gallery in Chelsea" In Portrait.
My work is in various private collections and the corporate collection of CB Richard Ellis and the University of Maryland School of Social Work.
I live in Brooklyn, NY and teach English as a Second Language to Adults.
I paint the figure in the urban environment, on the street and subway. I have also done a series of people looking at paintings in museums. My aim is to catch people candidly in ways that reveal character and personality. I work from photographs. My interest is to arrange the image on the two-dimensional painting surface. I simplify the forms and heighten the colors. I have also recently began working on portraits of family and friends.
