Sailor, beach lover & traveler from an early age, Keith's painting primarily revolved around coastal scenes, the water, and boats. Having moved from coast to coast while growing up, then living abroad and traveling to nearly 100 countries, his exposure to rich scenic material and experiences feed his passion for painting. From the Chesapeake Bay and the Carolina coast to Europe, the Caribbean and beyond, Keith captures memorable moments encountered by nearly all of us in life – whether it is a salty breeze during an afternoon at the beach, relaxing on the deck of a boat, the coziness of a sidewalk cafe, or a sun lit glass of bubbling Champagne on the veranda of a wonderful hotel. His paintings evoke reactions of “I’ve been there!” from admirers and collectors. Gallery owners in Scottsdale and New York have commented on the “quiet, peaceful nature” of Keith’s paintings and the “light saturated” nature of his seascapes.
Keith paints with acrylics on canvas, linen or panels, with sizes ranging from 4” x 6” miniatures to pieces 30” x 40” or more. His work can be found in private collections across America. Numerous collectors own more than one of his pieces and specifically requested commissions are not uncommon. Keith works from his home studio in McLean, Virginia and beach house in Surfside Beach, South Carolina.
