I'm Scott Johnston, sole-proprietor of The Wood Extension, a full custom furniture studio. I have been designing and hand-crafting commissioned furniture since 1977. I pride myself on diversity in styles from Old World to Contemporary, fabricating in Wood, Metal, Stone, Glass and Ornamentation.
It is my pleasure creating custom made furniture for those who appreciate the furniture maker's hands-on expertise. As a fine wood artisan, I have collaborated with clientss all over the USA to help reveal and develop intricate details and features that you have, in your minds eye and then uniquely hand-craft original works of artful furniture just for you!

Artist Statement
Since I can remember, I have always been involved in the arts whether it be drawing, painting, sculpture, jewelry or woodworking. I attain great pleasure and satisfaction working with my mind, heart and hands.
By being aware and familiar of my surroundings, in my everyday life, lends a sensitivity of understanding others personal needs, wants and desires. When creating custom furniture I always have my clientele's personal interest at heart and the memory of tradition still at my hand.
