Artwork Description: "The Ploughman's Dream II" is a contemporary interpretation of a Japanese tray garden — a reflection of the natural world in miniature. The work is made of tree bark & slate slivers separated by an S-curve of wood-fired ceramic. The tray is made of weathered (patinated) steel.
The work reflects the meeting of two elements. The "Ploughman" in the title refers to the act of 'furrowing'. The pine bark is furrowed in a wild and natural way while the slate strips are furrowed in a way expressive of human control.
The workmanship of this piece, and the materials used, are of the highest quality. The overall size is 36" in diameter. For indoor use only.
