Product description: 55 x 55 x 2 inches very large oil painting on canvas of a dark dark forest path. The outer parts of the painting are very dark greens, blues and purples but as you walk the path towards the way out of the woods it becomes brighter with greens, yellows, oranges, pinks, reds and blues and bright whites. To the left of the exit a very small stag can be seen leading the way. He is the only life form in the painting which I painted to be deliberately slightly scary but at the same time promising escape. Deer are traditionally spirit guides so it is fitting he is the one leading us out. This a very large painting and will create real impact in a large space. It has taken me months of layering to create this artwork. The paint is thick and very textured which definitely adds to the menacing darkness of the trees whilst the contrast against the bright colours adds the hope. I think most people are looking for answers to things. This painting is my attempt to put them there - or at least the hope that they will arrive where they need to be eventually. Painted on deep edge canvas - dark edges, no frame needed.

As a child I taught myself to draw and paint by copying animals and horses out of books on an almost daily basis. I then worked in a studio on the seafront for a while making sculptures with an architect for clubs and hotels. ‚Äč On moving to East Grinstead in the late 80's, I began painting for an art agent that specialised in...read more
