Product description: I've started to search for and purchase wood from suppliers that display actual photos of each board. That's the only sure way to get the premium quality and figure I look for. This is the second box to result from that approach. The entire box came from that single board, as you can see by how the figure flows throughout the piece. The dark wood is ziricote which comes from Mexico and the Yukatan Penninsula. The inlay on the top is spalted maple. The box is approximately 13" wide, 9" front to back, and 8" high. The top section has a removable divider grid in the bottom, and a sliding, removable tray above. The drawer below is open. Lining material is heavy duty suede-like upholstery fabric, making it elegant to both look and touch, while being very durable.. Hinges are the highest quality solid milled brass with built in stops to hold the lid open and upright. The finish is multiple coats of satin lacquer which gives the piece a silky feel, which accentuating the figure in the woods.
