Product description: NEW: I was recently chosen as a Winner in the 2018 ArtSlant Prize Showcase: https://www.artslant.com/la/showcases/showcase?listtype=showcase&sublist=67%5Eall This is a completely unique and original Preston M. Smith Figurative/Pop Surrealist painting on wood panel. This painting was recently released from my private collection. It is a dark, purposefully exaggerated self portrait from a different time, moody and emotional, capturing a lot of the feelings that I was going through at the time. Though the painting is a self portrait, the figure in the piece represents the human condition and can therefore be anyone. It is an exercise in light and shadow, or chiaroscuro. Note: This painting is painted on wood and comes hang ready with the sides painted black. Framing is unnecessary, but up to the preference of the collector. This painting is signed on the front and includes my Certificate of Authenticity. © 2007 PMS Artwork. All rights reserved.

Preston’s work has transitioned from moody pop surrealist paintings into vibrantly colorful, tactile, highly textured and almost "edible"abstract works. His mantra for his abstract work is "color, texture, and beauty", and his work and life have been an expression of moving from darkness into light. Preston’s work has been showcased alongside...read more
