Message In A Bottle original PMS oil painting on canvas Message In A Bottle original PMS oil painting on canvas
$ 350.00 In stock
Product description: This is a completely unique and original abstract oil painting on canvas. It is part of a series I call the "Garbage Collection" where I incorporate actual trash and recycled materials into the painting itself. This specific painting incorporates shiny materials and netting recycled from my own personal use of products, recycled into the heavy texture of the oil painting. These materials are both below and on top of the surface, giving wonderful texture and shine to the piece. Making beauty out of trash. Parts of the "garbage" actually jut out from the canvas, literally making in three dimensional. It is part of my attempt to comment on our wastefulness on this planet and make a statement about reducing your own impact and carbon footprint on the planet. Below the surface and textured are written the letters SOS, partially covered in the streaking color and garbage on the surface. It is a not so subtle call for help, as well as a statement on the floating trash the size of a country that we have floating in and polluting our oceans and killing our fish and their natural habitat. It is truly an original oil painting like no other. Note: This painting is painted on canvas and does not come framed. However, the sides of the piece are painted black and framing is unnecessary, but up to the preference of the collector. This painting is signed on the front and includes my Certificate of Authenticity. © 2017 PMS Artwork. All rights reserved.

Artist Preston M. Smith (PMS) found himself cross-eyed and with no depth perception as a child. This was the "lens" through which he developed his unique visual perspective of the world, which he now shares as a painter. Graduating from Gonzaga University with a Bachelors Degree in Fine Art/Theater Arts, Preston then moved to Los Angeles where he has since worked for over a decade as a fine artist. Preston’s work can best be categorized as having a mixture of both abstract and figurative styles, many times within the same...read more
