Product description:Summer Meadow is an original oil painting on canvas 30 x 24 x 0.5 inches of an August summer meadow with a swallow and wildflowers. It is painted in thick luxurious and very vibrant colours in an art nouveau semi abstract style. The swallows fly above the field over the wildflowers at the edge of a golden field of corn. Across the field you can see a gap in the trees that leads to another field. There are bright coloured willowy flowers in the foreground and the whole composition seems to sway and move in harmony with the swallow. This painting is part of a series of paintings inspired by me walking through Sussex in the summertime. I see swallows and I see beautiful fields, meadows, valleys, hills, farms, flowers, crops and trees and then make an impression from my memory of what I saw. I do this as the emotion I felt when looking at them is captured better for me than a photo or traditionally painted landscape would. It is on standard half inch wide canvas, white edges, ready to hang , framing recommended but not essential. Video: https://youtu.be/D2DUSxtyyvI

As a child I taught myself to draw and paint by copying animals and horses out of books on an almost daily basis. I then worked in a studio on the seafront for a while making sculptures with an architect for clubs and hotels. ‚Äč On moving to East Grinstead in the late 80's, I began painting for an art agent that specialised in...read more
