Product description:I had been grocery shopping, and walked past the display of flowers, just like any other time. But this time, there they were - these wine-red and yellow-green roses, all in one flower, and I was struck by this overwhelming sense of longing, this desire, inspired by these unusual roses. I walked out of the store without them, despite the visceral feeling of want and desire they inspired in me. I wanted them, but I didn't want to buy them. It wasn't until later, standing in my studio, going over that moment, turning it around in my head, that I realized why I walked out of the store without them, why the thought of buying them for myself actually was disappointing. I didn't want the roses so much as I wanted someone else to see the roses... and think of me. Even if they didn't buy them, I wanted them to see them, see how beautiful they were, in their unusual beauty, and think of me. 'and think of me' is an original oil painting by Abigail Marie, painted over acrylic latex primer on hardboard panel. It is done in heavy impasto, with bright, intense colors on a deep, muted plum. It is currently unframed, to make shipping easier, but can be framed at an additional cost on request. Please contact for an exact shipping quote via UPS.

As described by Steve Mount, a close friend of the artist: "Ask Abigail Marie where she finds her inspiration, and she searches for just the right thing to say. It is a big question, and not every artist has an answer. "Everything," she eventually replies. When you look at her work, you can't help but agree. Her art is distinctive in its technique, but with her range of subject matter, anyone...
