I took up pastels at age 14 and did portraits on commission during my teenage years. I married, raised a family and only returned to painting in my forties. At this time I taught myself watercolors, followed by egg tempera and eventually oils. I have been a member of several artist associations here in Illinois, and have met and discussed painting with other contemporaries. I displayed my paintings at art fairs as well as other locations in this area.
