Check out the decorating idea here and also using all the botanical drawings in the series. This original art for sale was featured on the Frick Museum's website. I used bold contour lines with lots of energy and fiercely vibrant pastel colors adding to the contemporary and modern feel. The plant's vibrant green and blue leaves pop against the blue/grey background. The inspiration for this artwork came from Sunday Sketch at the Frick Collection in New York. A potted plant of Morning Glories were made available for artist to sketch from since they also appear in Saint Francis, a Bellini painting currently on display at the Frick. Symbolism of the Botanical Art: The flowers are known to adapt to the time of day; they close at warm times and are fully open in the morning, thus their name. This plant was thought to be sacred to Dionysus because of the similarity of its leaves to those of ivy. *** The initial sketch of this piece was displayed on the Museum's Website *** Title: Morning Glories Size: 12x17.5"" ART before framing, 18x24"" with FREE MAT Framing: not included~ will be approximately 22x28"" after your choice of mat and frame Media: ORIGINAL Pastel and ink on Paper
