Artwork Description: This sculptural dead cedar is a source of delight and inspiration to me for its forms are so interesting. Its shimmering, salt-burnished wood has been worn down to the core by time, to become almost lacelike. I love to draw its parts in silverpoint, because it seems so appropriate. This drawing was started and then I had to leave it aside for a while. When I returned to it, the earlier part had evolved to the warm golden brown of tarnished silver, something that happens eventually to most silverpoint drawings. I drew it on acid-free watercolour paper.
