Product description: Hot Spring shows a geothermal spring near Durango Colorado. Steaming water cascaded over a mound of minerals precipitated from the hot water. Mist or steam is visible. We were on vacation in the Durango Colorado area and saw this hot spring from the highway. I spent some time walking the area to understand the spatial relationships of the compositional elements, watching the mist drift away and dipping my hands into the hot water. Several exposures were made. This one seems to be the most evocative composition. Hot Springs was created on Kodak Ektachrome 100 sheet film in a 4x5 inch Zone VI view camera mounted with a 210mm Caltar II lens.
