Morning sunshine in winter streams through our dining room window onto a table. I had tried to capture several inspiring verses from both the Old and New Testaments, but finding a text that was also visually inspiring was difficult. This was the only composition that worked both visually and technically.
In The Beginning was created on Ektachrome sheet film in an 8x10 inch Kodak Eastman View 2-D camera mounted with a 210mm/f-5.6 Caltar-II N lens. The transparency has been digitally scanned and is presented here as an archival ink-jet print.
In The Beginning is in the permanent collection of the T.W. Davis YMCA in Richmond Texas where it is displayed over a Bible in the entryway.
