Product description:"The 'North Head Lighthouse' rises above the Pacific Ocean one mile north of the mouth of the Columbia River that divides Washington and Oregon . The waters here are so very treacherous that two lighthouses were erected to warn mariners. It's sister beacon is Cape Disappointment Light Station at Illwaco, Washington." Artist Comments: "This is North Head Lighthouse, north of the Columbia River near Long Beach, Washington State. I chose the viewpoint from the hill above the lighthouse. My first painting of this beacon was one of a grey, overcast day, with the light beaming through the misty fog. This one is the extreme opposite. The day is warm and sunny, illuminating the tower with a strong glow. The grasses in the foreground are bending in a gentle breeze. Gouache seemed to be the best media to paint this second version of North Head. The water-based media lends itself to the ambience of softness and luminosity." "North Head Lighthouse" is a limited edition, gicle print from an original gouache painting by Carol Thompson. Edition length is 3600 authorized, signed, limited edition prints (3500 numbered and 100 artist proofs). Image size is 7" X 5". This substrate is "Epson Premier Canvas Satin" water resistant giclee canvas, using Epson Ultrachrome K3 archival inks. The canvas has been coated with PremierArt print shield, which seals and protects the artwork from moisture, UV light fade, humidity, atmospheric contaminants, abrasion, and fingerprints. This stretched canvas print is gallery wrapped (the image is extended or mirrored to wrap around the sides of wooden stretcher bars and stapled to the back) so the print can be displayed framed or unframed. The print is signed and numbered by the artist, includes a signed certificate of authenticity, and is wired for hanging. These miniature canvas prints are perfect for display in small areas or in groupings with like subjects (lighthouses, old cars, seascapes, seagulls, etc.) or on small easels on your desk, on a bookshelf, coffee table, small decorative table, or any nook or cranny. Please Note: This print is available in other sizes and substrates (paper and canvas). This image is also available as a note card, an ACEO, and a magnet.
