Product description: LaSorgente Glass Studio Introduces Orblets™ The next generation of NightOrbs™. Petite handblown, illuminated glass wonders to light up your landscape with color. MEDIA, Pennsylvania (February 10, 2011)...Award-winning glass artisan Tom Rupnicki announces “small” news with big impact. He has created Orblets™ to add an entirely new dimension to his outdoor lighting repertoire. At just 4 inches in diameter, these magnificent glass spheres are petite in size but powerful in drama. Just like NightOrbs™, the larger counterpart that inspired them, Orblets™ are individually crafted of handblown glass. They can be displayed alone or in clusters, or positioned to enhance the beauty of NightOrbs™. Orblets™ can be suspended, displayed on the ground or even floated in water. The possibilities are virtually limitless. Like NightOrbs™, Orblets™ are available in 39 brilliant colors. Water-tight, sturdy, weather-resistant, and easily installed, Orblets™ are designed to be displayed all year long. They are energy efficient, and, illuminated by a 10 watt Xelogen lamp, they are cool to the touch. “I’m so excited about the Orblets™,” says artist Tom Rupnicki. “Their scale gives them a unique beauty, a subtlety that can either stand alone or complement the larger NightOrbs™. When they’re with NightOrbs™, they create a kind of illuminated confetti effect. When they stand alone, they’re jewel-like surprises in the garden. They’re a joy to see in the landscape.”

I first had the idea of introducing hand-blown glass into the landscape in 1999. I chose a spherical shape, because it is considered the most perfect form.
