Product description:For this botanical art I used bold contour lines with lots of energy and fiercely vibrant pastel colors adding to the contemporary and modern feel to the original pastel drawing. The vine's rich chocolate coffee brown stems and teal leaves ascend naturally up the artwork, creating a beautiful composition. The deep teal vine pops against a quarry blue-gray background. According to biblical sources, the grape vine symbolizes the Church of the Virgin Mary. In the Bellini's painting, St. Francis's shelter supports a canopy of grapevines. This artwork was created at the Frick museum in New York. The curator had a horticulturist bring a potted grape vine to the courtyard for artist to sketch from to supplement the Bellini exhibit.
