Product description:This piece features a hostess staring off into the night in front of a restaurant in San Francisco's Chinatown. The title comes from the restaurant's menu- it was the first listing in english, and I felt it complemented the color scheme in addition to sounding delightfully odd. I painted this scene because I was struck by the rare moment of stillness in what is usually a bustling environment as well as the striking colors and play of light.
This is an oil painting on a 24" x 30" extra-deep canvas with a 1.5" rabbet. The edges are painted black and the canvas is wired, so it can be hung as-is or framed on your own. Completed in 2011, signed on the back.
